Woodland House

Hampshire

Contemporary new build country house.

The lower ground floor is partially bedded into the steeply sloping landscape in the form of a monolithic masonry plinth. A pair of pitched roof volumes sit on top of the plinth, with the single-storey element housing the primary social areas and the larger two-storey volume containing the more private spaces.

The black stained timber cladding and metal roofing reference the local agricultural vernacular helping the building to sit comfortably within its context.
