Woodland House

A new build country house on a steeply sloping woodland site in Hampshire. The lower ground floor is embedded into the landscape as a masonry plinth, from which a pair of pitched roof volumes rise — a single-storey element for the social spaces and a larger two-storey volume for the more private accommodation above. Black stained timber cladding and metal roofing reference the local agricultural vernacular, sitting comfortably within the woodland without competing with it.
