Moyglare Farm

A new-build replacement dwelling in rural Hampshire, designed to sit comfortably within its agricultural setting. The existing house — in poor condition and of limited architectural merit — has been replaced with a thoughtfully composed family home that draws on the local vernacular. Three intersecting volumes of varying scale are arranged in a traditional farmyard 'U' formation around a central courtyard, breaking down the massing into smaller elements reminiscent of a cluster of agricultural buildings. Knapped Hampshire flint, brick, oak cladding and heritage clay tiles are combined with carefully considered architectural details to create a home that feels rooted in its landscape.
